Data Levels of Bartol Neutron Monitor Network
Level Data Preparation Recommended Use
Real-Time

Downloaded automatically from station, standard normalization factors applied, standard pressure correction applied. No quality control has been performed.

Should not be used for scientific research purposes. Use of these data for any purpose is "at your own risk."

Preliminary

Data subjected to basic quality tests. Major defects are corrected or flagged as gaps.

Suitable for scientific research. However, revisions to data (usually minor) may occur subsequently.

Final

Data have passed a comprehensive "annual" review. Subtle anomalies and long-term changes in detector efficiency, barometer accuracy, etc. have been identified and corrected.

Suitable for scientific research.

Archived final and preliminary data are available online.
